Tour Canada 2011

In early 2011 I set off to the Great White North – Canada, in Winter. There on one of my shortest tours yet I got to experience canoeing, kayaking and snow shoeing amongst the coldest conditions I’d ever experienced. It was also an amazing tour amongst incredible paddling personalities and the fantastic people of Canada.

Canadian paddlers - I suspect a fraction tougher than Aussie paddlers!

Canoe Paddling In Toronto – Despite a few rums the night before and temperatures below zero, for some reason I thought it might be cool to paddle a canoe in the spiritual home of canoeing. Perhaps next time I’ll wait for a Canadian Summer!

Winter Fun in Thunder Bay – Up in north west Ontario, on the shores of Lake Superior, is a small town called Thunder Bay. There I experienced great people, Canadian beer, the coldest day of Winter and night snow shoeing.

Greenland Rolling Classes with Helen Wilson – In a local Thunder Bay pool, Greenland rolling expert Helen Wilson taught a series of rolling classes to the keen Canadians of Thunder Bay. And a certain Aussie paddler!

Tour Fiji 2010

In 2010 I head off to the tropical island of Fiji for a family holiday with a little bit of paddling thrown in. Not to mention a little controversy!

Tropical Paddling in Fiji – A litttle paddle trip out across a tropical reef, to a secluded beach some way up the coast. And the subsequent wrath of some very angry Fijians!

Tour USA 2009

In 2009  on a whirlwind tour of the USA I managed to drive from San Francisco to Santa Cruz (California) to paddle in Monterrey Bay with sea-lions, then flew to Chicago where I paddled the Chicago River through the middle of the city at night, before flying up to Alaska to paddle amongst icebergs. Here are the stories from the 2009 tour to the old U S of A!
