Last week the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic officially opened for registration and the lads from Team Fat Paddler quickly signed up. Many of them have yet to have a decent night paddle so we thought we’d get out for one up Middle Harbour. The night contained plenty of laughter, a coffee stop, and paddling through cold fog in national park, but the best part of course was being able to drift along under the stars, watching the Milky Way above our heads as we moved through the dark still waters.
Paddles like these can be scary for the newer paddles but are to my mind the most beautiful paddles you can do. If you haven’t given it a try, take it from me – you have a wonderful experience waiting for you! Cheers – FP
one of the best paddles i’ve ever been on. it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. the mist rising from the water was beautiful, and I could lie back on my rear deck and gaze at the stars while I drifted along, waiting for Sean to catch up.
Nice work guys. Wish I’d been there. Good thing you don’t stop to think about the sharks hunting at the same time you’re gazing at the stars, he he he…
Yep – I agree Alan – a wonderful experience.
And Ned, the thought of a hungry Noah not far away did lurk in the deepest recess of my mind 🙂
Hope to do it again soon 🙂
Mike.
