The Odd Couple – A fat man and his kayak

Fat Paddler and his Log

It’s an odd mix, a hefty fella and a somewhat tippy kayak. But we have a plan to get fit and have fun doing it, with a 111km marathon paddle in October as the training goal. The journey has begun and will be documented here. Enjoy.

    G’day FP,

fantastic website. Loved going through your pics from around the states. I’m green with envy, especially with the paddles among the bergs. That looked like great fun. Bet the water was bloody cold!

Good luck with the HCC. I’m having a go this year as well. Have done it before but so long ago that I can’t remember the exhaustion or pain. Not sure if I’ll make the distance, but will try to raise as much $$ as possible anyway.

All the best with your training – might see you at Windsor on Oct 24th.

    Cheers
    Ned

    G’day FP,
    sure I’ll find you.

I’ll be the tall skinny guy who doesn’t have his own cool paddler shirt!

Trying to catch up to your sponsorship total but not quite there yet… Great work mate.

Don’t worry Ned, we’ll likely have some tshirts for sale there :) )

    G’day FP,

mate – cracked the $4k sponsorship mark on Friday! (with help from you). Trying my hardest to squeeze some cash out of these mining contracting types, and so far had some luck. It’s surprised me how the small operators give the most, and the big companies aren’t so generous. All helps of course. I’ve still got some more in my sights…

Got too much on this weekend to get a paddle in. Hope you got a good session in today.

    Happy paddling.
    Cheers

(reckon I’ll buy a Fatpaddler t-shirt on the 24th just to confuse the hell outta people when I paddle around the lake up here!)
