More Paddling Bear Glacier Alaska

The Lake on Bear Glacier - big floaty ice bits!
I received an email out of the blue from Ron, the kayak guide from Backcountry Safaris who showed me around Bear Glacier on my recent travels to Alaska. He’d just returned after packing down his camp in the woods for the Winter, and had a couple of photos of our trip. Now I know I’ve probably bored you all to death with all my Alaska photos, but it reminded me what a truly spectacular place it is, and how handy it was to have my Folbot Cooper with me. Plus, it’s my site so I can do what I like – haha! Cheers – FP

I don’t think you have any reason to fear boring us

FP: Was just reminded by your latest comment on Freya’s site that I hadn’t checked yours’ lately. So I did. Congratulations on finishing the Hawkesbury Classic in such splendid style! You’re an inspiration to all us out-of-shape old guys. And to think that you have only been doing this stuff since last April.
Speaking of ancient by-gone days (and prompted by your review of Nadgee kayaks), did you know that Freya stopped by to visit Lawrence and the outfit’s founder, Dave Winkworth, last Feb. 2nd? She posted a great photo of Lawrence “repairing” her Epic (see: http://qajaqunderground.com/2009/02/04/day-16-monday-02022009-by-freya/

Gday Chuck, thanks for coming back! That’s a great shot of Lawrence, as long as it’s not your kayak under the hammer!!
