Sydney’s weather today – ocean swell up to 3 metres, westerly gale force winds, coastal warnings for “large swell breaking dangerously onshore”. These conditions are dangerous and will keep many paddlers at home, but for some this would look like a recipe for fun and excitement. The Tsunami Rangers would likely be grabbing their helmets and wash-deck boats and be heading for the coast to see what trouble they could get into, whilst the rest of us get comfortable indoors with a good book!
Many of the Tsunami Rangers antics have been documented, with their “Tsunami Rangers Greatest Hits” DVD containing some amazing footage of them in surf and rocks. The’ve kindly let me use the following piece of surf footage from their DVD for those paddlers staying out of the booming surf today. Hopefully this’ll inspire a few of us to get out there and get wet. Cheers – FP

Great Vid !! Now if only I could exit my kayak with the grace, ease and speed of that very last fellow – I’d feel complete 🙂
Wow! Fun kayak surfing action. Hey, wait a minute, I’m in it. I’m the guy in the doubles shots in the back seat and the dude who surfs around & through the rocks.
Very nice set-up here FP. Thanks for making us look good.
Cheers!

Oh yes, a message for Mike, the first commenter. That very last fellow exiting the surf and his kayak with grace and ease is Jim Kakuk (Captain Kuk), who makes everything look easy. That’s why he’s the captain.
In only the Captain of Team Fat Paddler looked so graceful! 😉
I need to try that kayak surfing that could be a new Olympic sport, what do ya think?
