You know it’s been a great days paddling when you have to call it quits because physically you just can’t take anymore. Such was this particular morning where six of us gathered in a range of different boats to go for an exploration paddle south of Sydney. After just 30 minutes we’d discovered the secret that the locals have known long about – a long green runner that travels for some 600 metres, just perfect for kayak and surf ski surfing. For close to 4 hours we surfed, we fell out, we self-rescued, we tried other boats (thanks Tony for the try on your OC1!), and just had ridiculous amounts of fun.
It was also a day of revelation for me, where I finally felt at home on my Stellar SR surf ski. For the first time I felt a part of it, could throw it around, lay it down on its edge when surfing and, despite still falling off a few times, felt like it was the best boat I’d ever paddled. In fact, the whole morning felt like the best paddle session I’d ever had.
I think we’ve all woken up this morning, bodies sore, still somewhat exhausted, but all with smiles on our faces. We wont say exactly where this place is, but rest assured we’ll be returning to it! Cheers, FP
not nearly enough of me in it! but awesome day FP and TFP, was a pleasure having a blast with you, even if a Blast wasn’t to be had.
Hi! I enjoyed it very much… Nice shots.. close to the water! Some more to come?
Awesome video, for sure anyone who’ll see this would just want to take out his yak and go paddling ASAP! Speaking of your yak, the hibiscus flower detail is beautiful! Did you have that custom made?
Cheers! I had the hibiscus stickers made up for me by Danny from http://www.vinylstickers.com.au (as this is actually my wife’s ski). Then i spent an hour or so applying them. It really gives the ski a bit of stand-out value, there’s too many plain white skis out there IMHO. đŸ™‚
